Weekend Hike – 4/18/2015

This weekend we hiked Teneriffe Falls (formerly Kamikaze Falls). It was 70 degrees and sunny so we put on our t-shirts, shorts and hiking boots and headed out to Snoqualmie. This was about a 7 mile hike total. It starts out really easy with a wide road and then you go off to another relatively easy road but then the switchbacks start. We counted 22 switchbacks that lead up to the top of the falls. Most of the trail with the switchbacks was covered in large rocks and boulders so we had to keep our heads down as to not loose our footing or roll an ankle. There were other people and lots of dogs on the hike but it wasn’t too crowded. We stopped about midway up to have a quick snack and water and then stopped at the top to enjoy the view. We met some other hikers on the trail and everyone was really friendly and even up for a chat at the top. Here are a couple of pictures from the hike. They don’t really do justice to the magnitude of the waterfall as it had an insane drop from the top.
