Gluten Free Bread

Gluten free bread has come a very long way since I went gluten free. Here is a round-up of some of the breads that I enjoy.

Franz Bread: I found this bread after moving to Seattle. I typically buy it in the regular bread section of Safeway or in the natural section of Fred Meyer. This is my favorite bread to eat without toasting. The 7 grain is perfect for a Turkey and Cheese sandwich while we are out and about on a hike or long car ride.

Udi’s Bread: This company has grown and grown very quick. I first found it in NYC a few years after going GF and for awhile it was the only bread I would eat. The downside to this bread is that the slices are on the smaller side and there is normally a big hole in each piece. It has gotten better, but the hole is still usually there. Udi’s has tons of other wonderful products but that is for another post.

Genius Bread: This is the brand of bread that I primarily used when I lived in the UK. The slices are the same as a normal loaf of bread and it is good at room temperature or toasted. I wish that they would start importing to the USA.

Whole Food Gluten Free Bakehouse: This is in the freezer section at Whole Foods. I have been enjoying the Light White Bread for my morning toast. It also makes a good Grilled Cheese. This bread is not great at room temperature.
